Universal Production Services Launches New Facility at Sky Studios Elstree
This summer, the Universal Production Services team switched on the lights at their new facility—a recently-completed 90,000sqft. warehouse, located on the extended site of Sky Studios Elstree. Now fully fitted and operational, the team has settled into their new base, ready to support productions across the UK with world-class equipment and expertise.

The new facility serves as the UK and European headquarters for Universal Production Services’ global operation, offering cutting-edge lighting, rigging equipment and more to a diverse range of film and television clients. As a BAFTA Albert supplier, with a vast rental inventory, the highly experienced team are well-positioned to meet the growing demands of the UK’s thriving production landscape.
“We are thrilled with our spacious new home! Positioned right across from Sky Studios Elstree and just moments from central London and the home counties, this move gives us the perfect base to serve all productions better than ever with their set lighting, mobile generator and rigging needs—whether supporting productions on-site or across the UK and Europe. We look forward to welcoming our clients with our great customer service and industry leading technology.”
Rob Garvie, Vice President
Universal Production Services UK
Although the team service productions across Europe, Universal Production Services are also the exclusive lighting and rigging supplier for productions at Sky Studios Elstree and play vital role in delivering seamless production support on site. Sky and Universal are both part of the Comcast group, enabling a collaborative, integrated approach to understanding the needs of production clients. The new base reinforces the strong partnership between the two organisations.
Together, Universal Production Services and Sky Studios Elstree have already supported a wide range of high-profile projects, including most-recently Jurassic World: Rebirth and Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy as well as Paddington in Peru, and the studios’ very first production client Wicked, followed by its eagerly anticipated sequel Wicked: For Good, arriving in cinemas this November.

Opened in 2022, Sky Studios Elstree features 12 state-of-the-art soundstages, modern production offices, adaptable workshops, and premium amenities designed to elevate every stage of the production process. With some of the most ambitious sustainability goals in the industry, the studios have integrated green infrastructure and processes since its launch.
