Sky Studios Elstree Hosts Two Industry Events

Earlier in June Sky Studios Elstree hosted events by Filming in England and the Production Guild of Great Britain, inviting industry professionals to network with various companies.

Filming in England hosted over 400 people at Sky Studios Elstree for its Hertfordshire Industry Mixer, in collaboration with the BFI’s London Metro Skills Cluster and Hertfordshire Film Office. The mixer was a was a great opportunity for local crews and businesses, as well as young people looking to break into the film and TV world, to connect.

Thursday saw the Production Guild of Great Britain’s (PGGB) Sustainability Committee hold their ‘Sustainability Behind the Lens’ open day. Supported by The Generator Project, Sky Studios Elstree hosted cutting edge sustainable energy suppliers who work with productions all over the UK – everything from sustainable set designing, lighting and waste removal.

Sky Studios Elstree was designed with sustainability in mind, from an onsite waste recycling centre, LED-only house lighting and electric shuttle buses to public transport routes; the all-day event in association with the PGGB forms part of the world’s most sustainable studio’s continued dedication to ensuring an environmentally sustainable future within the film and TV production industry.
